the Route

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The DP ride is TOUGH! We are not exaggerating when we tell you that this is the toughest, minimally supported, charity 'fun-ride' you will ever find... anywhere. Truth! And the 2018 edition is sure to test your resolve!

Covering 102.1 miles (anyone can ride 102 miles - it's that 0.1 that hurts!) of some of the most beautiful, scenic by-ways in rural Vermont - 80 miles of which are un-paved dirt roads - and with almost 10,800 feet of total elevation gain, this truly is a ride like no other. And as such it simply isn't everyone's cup of tea!

The entire route is in Vermont passing thru Hartford, Quechee, Woodstock, Pomfret, Sharon, Strafford, West Fairlee, Thetford and Norwich. There will be 5 or 6 'soft' SAG stops along the route (details on these will be posted soon) where you'll be able to refuel, plus roving support vehicles provided by FullSquish Industries and Cowbell Mobile Bike Shop, and a handful of loyal and loving roadies who just want to see you survive the ride - but the emphasis is on self-sufficiency and true grit! Be prepared to be your bad-ass self!

The proposed route for 2018 is available on Ride with GPS. Take a look at it - closely - and feel free to ask questions about the ride before you decide to sign up.
